new movie?

I just heard that there might be a remake of East of Eden coming out this year?  Has anyone else heard anything?  Is this just rumor?  Is there a release date?

    Hmm I haven't heard anything- I hope so! Although, I have heard that the last film adaptation was awesome...

    The James Dean movie was HORRIBLE! Nothing like the book.
    This is what I saw online about an upcoming film version:

    It says the release date is 10/10/10.... I don't get to the movies often enough to know if there are any previews out... but if this is true, I think a field trip might be in order :)

    Okay Twilight fans, a little more digging online uncovered that Kristen Stewart wants the part of Kate...unfortunately it also said the release date is more likely to be 2011.
